Mr. East was one of our top football handicappers in 2008 and he is not going to let up with his bowl picks. He is a thorough handicapper who studies the bowl games lines with a great intensity, which is one of the reasons he hits at such a high percentage. Just take a look at the winner he posted on the 2008 Papajohns.com Bowl in which he took NC State over Rutgers:
This should be a very interesting game, as both teams exploded out of nowhere, into hot teams to close the season. NC State will be delighted to be in this Bowl, as they earned it with a 4 game winning streak. Rutgers had much bigger expectations when the season started but in the end, I’m sure they are happy to be here and extend their season. There is two keys in this game for me. The first are the QB’s. Mike Teel was on one heck of a run as the season closed. Does the break destroy that momentum? I’m not sure, but there is a big difference between Teel and Wolfpack QB Russell Wilson. Wilson has thrown 16 TD’s with just 1 INT. Teel has thrown 23 TD’s with 12 INT’s. Turnovers determine football games, and the Wolfpack certainly look to have the potential to be on top of that column, and getting a TD+, looks very lucrative here. The second is an intangible. NC State has that certain something, that isn’t definable, but you know it when you see it. They are greater than the sum of their parts, and that is the type of team that you like to back, and I’m taking the points here, and I believe they can win this game.
