Today he’s taking Wake Forest -3 over Navy: These two teams met back on September 27th, with Navy winning 24-17 as 17 point underdogs. If that game would have been played on a neutral field, then the Demon Deacons would have been an 11 point favorite. However, they are only favored by 3 points in this match-up, meaning that the lines makers dropped the spread by 8 points, which is too much. In addition, Wake Forest was in a tough spot in that game against Navy. They were coming off of a big road win against Florida State, and they had a primetime home game against Clemson the following week. In that September game, Wake Forest quarterback Riley Skinner threw 4 interceptions, killing several potential touchdown drives. The Demon Deacons could have had several more scores in that game if not for turnovers and mistakes. Navy’s defense did little to slow down Skinner, as he threw for 270 yards. In addition, Wake Forest’s defense shut out Navy’s offense in the 2nd half after giving up 17 points in the 1st half. This game is played only 45 minutes from Navy’s campus, but Wake Forest’s campus is also relatively close, thus limiting the supposed home field advantage. The Demon Deacons have a huge advantage of already facing the Midshipmen this season, so they are very comfortable defending the triple option offense. Look for them to get revenge in this match-up and get the win.
